Quick Answer: What Gear Do You Actually Need?
WARDOGS gear decisions are cash decisions: every item you carry can be lost on death, so the question is never "what is best" but "what pays for itself". The community-settled buy order is: armor first (Level 3 body armor at $2,000 is the single best survival purchase), then a rifle you can afford to lose (the $600 T-21 is the consensus value king), then utility — smokes, meds, a parachute — and only then prestige hardware.
| Slot | Consensus Pick | Price | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary rifle | T-21 | $600 | Full-auto, 28 damage at 750 RPM, full damage to 300 m |
| Budget armor | Level 3 body armor | $2,000 | Survives the fights cheap loadouts lose |
| Budget helmet | Level 3 helmet | $1,500 | Headshot insurance at mid-tier cost |
| Utility | Smokes + parachute | Cheap | Crossings and insertions without dying for them |
The Three Gear Lines
Protection (armor and helmets) decides how many mistakes you survive. Weapons decide how fast you end fights — from the $600 T-21 to the $8,800 AMR 50, every gun has a replacement cost attached to its damage number. Utility (meds, smokes, defibrillator, building tools, parachute) is the line new players skip and veterans never do: it is the cheapest gear you carry and the reason you keep the expensive gear.
Gear Is a Lease, Not a Purchase
Every loadout in WARDOGS is rented for one life. Die with it and the replacement cost comes out of your next budget — there is currently no insurance system to claw it back. That is why this guide prices everything: the FAL is a monster rifle, but at $6,500 it is also two thirds of your $10,000 starting balance walking into a warzone.
